Huntsville Pikes Win Smythe and More

The Theta Pi Chapter and Huntsville Area alumni dominated the awards at the 2018 International Convention in Richmond, VA, celebrating 150 years of Pi Kappa Alpha. Theta Pi Chapter won its first ever Smythe Award, annually awarded to the top performing chapters of Pi Kappa Alpha. The Theta Pi Alumni Advisory Board (AAB) won its 6th consecutive AAB of the Year Award and the Huntsville Area Alumni Association won its 5th consecutive William R. Nester Alumni Association of the Year Award.

Brother Mark E. Reavis won the well-deserved Chapter Advisor of the Year after many years of work as the Theta Pi Chapter Advisor and assisting the undergraduates in their quest towards excellence. Brother David D. Soetekouw won the Young Alumnus of the Year Award.

Theta Pi Chapter also received the Orians Chapter Excellence Award, Scholarship Plate for a 3.0 Chapter GPA and an award for top Risk Awareness program.

Members of the 1979 Club have chosen to honor the founding of the local Theta Pi Chapter by donating at least $19.79 per month to the HAAA. These funds are used towards scholarships, undergraduates, and alumni association events.
