Chapter Eternal

"This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us.  And we ought to lay down our lives for our Brothers."

1 John 3:16 NIV

Dr. Benjamin Graves (Gamma Iota, Univ. of Mississippi '42) Dr. Graves was the 2nd President of UAH, serving from 1969 to 1978.  He is credited with coining the name "The University of Alabama in Huntsville".  He helped secure funds to build the Southeast Housing Dormitory as well as save the Engineering Department from an early demise in 1970.  As a tribute to his legacy the main thoroughfare on campus is named after him.  Shortly before his death Mr. Graves secured a promise from the University that a Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity House would be built on Greek Row.

Earl C. Jacoby (Kappa, Transylvania University '55) Mr. Jacoby is credited with establishing the Theta Pi chapter of our beloved Fraternity and served as chapter advisor for many years.  He was the embodiment of what all Pikes strive to be; Scholar, Leader, Athlete, and of course Gentleman.  His volunteer work at UAH earned him a place in the "Charger Hall of Fame" .  The University also hosts a Memorial Cross-Country Invitational annually in his name.  A scholarship has been established in his memory, for more information click here.

Jean-Marc Plante (Theta Pi, Univ. of Ala.-Huntsville '92) Mr. Plante known to his friends as "Frenchy" was a native of Laval Quebec and came to UAH in 1988 to play Hockey.  Plante earned a Masters Degree in Sports Management and had an extensive career in Hockey Front Office management, notably as General Manager of the Huntsville Channel Cats.  In 2001 the UAH Charger Hockey team retired his jersey.

David Eric Warren (Theta Pi, Univ. of Ala.-Huntsville '95) Brother Warren was an engineering student from Bridgeport Alabama.  Affectionately known as "Bubby", Eric had a knack for giving nicknames to his friends.  He was initiated with his Pledge Brothers from the Alpha Kappa Pledge Class in May 1995. His untimely death remains a tragic and emotional loss for Theta Pi.
